Desa Visesa Ubud is most certainly a luxury resort, but upon arriving you will get the sense that the grounds feel much more like a local Balinese village. The winding streets and lush plants of Ubus blend into the landscape of the resort and create a seamless connection of local culture and international luxury. Upon check in, you’ll be greeted with a Balinese blessing and a performance from local musicians, who enliven the premises with their cheerful serenades. Before heading to your room, we highly recommend a brief golf cart tour around the property - there are so many hidden gems you wouldn’t want to miss!
The villas are incredibly private and are surrounded by vine-covered walls that overlook green Balinese rice fields. Each villa features an opened-aired lounge area looking onto your own private pool where you can start each morning with a relaxing soak in a gorgeous petal bath - a full-body pampering experience you certainly can’t skip out on. The villa’s entryways are decorated with Balinese symbols and traditional markings that bring good luck, alongside fragrant offerings to the gods - something found in every local’s home and the reason why Bali always smells of burning incense! The bedrooms are, of course, airtight with strong air conditioning and the highest quality bedding. Our favorite aspect of our accommodations was the traditional bamboo ceilings that drew visiting geckos in the night… all part of the Balinese island experience!
There are a variety of dining options on offer at Desa Visesa, including fine dining experiences with impressive river views to local warung vibes that reflect Balinese culture and flavors. There are also endless photo opportunities around every corner and experiential activities available, like tours of the local vege gardens and a Balinese temple located on the property. In the days surrounding your wedding, your guests can enjoy the comforts of private pools, expansive views, fresh seafood, and spa treatments all within the confinements of the resort. And when they’re well-rested and ready for a new adventure, encourage them to take the free shuttle to the local Ubud town as well and continue to see what Bali has to offer!
