For a truly authentic seafood experience, honeymooners in Algarve must head to 2 Passos – a year-round lunch spot in the heart of the Golden Triangle that serves up some of the best fish in the region. Only accessible from the beach, parking is available nearby and the last 100 metres or so of the winding walk to the restaurant is made on foot, with wooden sleepers laid in the sand. The clean, modernist architecture set against the coastline makes for a memorable dining experience, but the seafood is the real draw of this unique joint. Simplicity is key here. Fish can be freshly grilled at your table or baked in flaky salt, proving that the quality of the catch is the most important aspect of every dish. A few of our favourites included the house special lobster casserole, king fish (a Portuguese version of whitebait), and of course the famed Passos rice. One thing to note is that the restaurant is only open for lunch, but group reservations are available for dinner. The privacy of the beach means you and your bridal party could spend almost an entire day at 2 Passos – enjoying a delicious fresh lunch, exploring the beach and sunbathing, and then heading back for cocktails and an exclusive dinner!
