Sylvia and Edward

highlandswedding

Since she was a little girl, Sylvia always dreamed of a fairytale wedding. When Edward, the man that captured her heart, declared that his biggest wishes for their big day included fine whiskey and golf, the couple knew exactly where to travel for the wedding of their dreams. The Scottish Highlands held it all. Breathtaking views, medieval castles, rolling green hills and the best whiskey in the world. Because they lived in London, hopping on a jet and flying over to the Highlands was a simple task for the couple. They escaped for a weekend, planned a whirlwind fairytale elopement and were back the following work day. Memories of blue skies and castle gardens were theirs to cherish and regale to friends and family in the days to follow.

Because they planned their elopement quickly, Sylvia and Edward knew to turn to the best vendors in Scotland to make sure their wedding went off without a hitch. They called up internationally acclaimed photographer Brendan of Bear Deer Fox to fly out from Australia and made sure Yvette Edwards of New Zealand was there as well for every styling need. In order to ensure she looked as if she’d stepped out of the pages of a fairytale book, Sylvia entrusted designer Kelsey Genna to design a bespoke gown fit for a Highlands princess. Jewelry was selected from Scottish designer Alison Moore and the incredible Hermione Harbutt created a custom headpiece for the glowing bride.

For a wedding in the Scottish Highlands, nothing short of a castle would suit the couple’s romantic vows, so Sylvia and Edward booked the historic Achnagairn Castle for their private ceremony. The floral visionaries at Pyrus Botanicals provided a stunning bouquet the rivaled the wild beauty of the countryside and the Inverness Cheesecake Company whipped up a cake fit for kings and queens. After their ceremony, the couple enjoyed an intimate candlelit dinner together and reminisced on their favourite memories of the weekend thus far.

The next morning, Sylvia and Edward packed up a picnic basket and wandered out into the Highlands for a day of sunshine and adventure. They popped champagne, ate berries and toasted their recent elopement. After lunch, they dressed up and headed to a second castle for one last celebratory meal before heading home to London...
